Over 70 firefighters tackle fire at hotel under construction

Fire crews were called to a blaze at a hotel under construction in Ealing on Tuesday morning (18th April).

Ten fire engines and 72 firefighters and officers attended the scene on Uxbridge Road after 999 control staff received dozens of calls about the fire.

The entire roof of the eight-storey hotel was alight, as well as part of the plant room.

The brigade was called at 11.30am and crews from Ealing, Acton and surrounding stations had the fire under control by 1.25pm.

The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental and due to the unsafe disposal of smoking materials.

No injuries were reported.
