Willmott Dixon appoints ex-Galliford Try director

Residential developer Willmott Dixon has announced the appointment of a new regional operations director to drive its northern expansion.

Andrew Hurcomb (pictured above) joins from housebuilder Galliford Try, where he spent 28 years in positions ranging from site engineer to operations director.

In his new role, Andrew will support Willmott Dixon’s current projects in Yorkshire and pursue new opportunities in the county from the company’s Morley office near Leeds.

He said: “Willmott Dixon is a progressive, forward-thinking organisation with many notable opportunities in the pipeline.

“I am excited to be playing a part in realising the huge potential we have in Yorkshire and further developing the business in the region working with customers from public and private sectors.”

Willmott Dixon is currently working on several major schemes in Yorkshire, including the new National College for High Speed Rail in Doncaster, Minsthorpe Leisure Centre in Wakefield and a new football ground for Scarborough FC.

Andrew will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with clients such as Doncaster Council, with whom the company is working at pre-construction on the Herten Triangle Retail Park development.

Anthony Dillon, managing director of Willmott Dixon in the North, added: “We are delighted to welcome Andrew to Willmott Dixon.

“It is an exciting time with a surge of new opportunities across Yorkshire and Andrew will help us deliver many successful projects for our customers.”
