LendInvest launches its first property development academy in Scotland

Scottish housing minister Kevin Stewart MSP (pictured above, centre) has launched the first LendInvest Property Development Academy in Scotland.

In September last year, LendInvest announced the launch of its first property development academy to teach aspiring property developers the skills needed to build residential properties.

Since then, the lender has added new dates to its academy in London as well as launching academies in Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol.

Mr Stewart – who joined attendees at a two-day academy course in central Edinburgh last week – said: “It is essential that we get more enterprising developers delivering the housing stock we need, where we need it most.

“Small developers are essential to a healthy property market and initiatives like the LendInvest Property Development Academy demonstrate the opportunity for industry, government and communities to work together to build more homes."

Ian Thomas, co-founder and chief investment officer at LendInvest (pictured above, left), added: “This Development Academy provides Scottish property entrepreneurs with the tools they need to get their projects off the ground, supporting them to navigate the challenges of securing land, obtaining finance and ultimately adding new homes to Scotland’s housing stock.”
