Joint venture to develop £35m South Yorkshire industrial scheme

Property developer Stoford Developments has joined forces with Lazarus Properties to develop a £35m industrial scheme in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council has approved the reserved matters application for the 404,000 sq ft development at Hatfield Lane in Armthorpe.

The plans for the 30.11-acre site comprise two units with ancillary offices, one of 251,000 sq ft and the other of 152,500 sq ft, with both earmarked for B1, B2 and B8 uses.

Dan Gallagher, joint managing director at Stoford, said the local area had seen a huge amount of development over the past few years, including I-Port, a six million sq ft logistics park and strategic freight rail terminal, and Doncaster Distribution Park.

“There has been a significant growth in the industrial and warehouse sector over the past five years and we identified the land off Hatfield Lane to be a prime site for a warehouse development,” said Dan.

“Now that the reserved matters application has been approved, we can prepare for construction to begin.

“This will be yet another superb development in a strategic area of South Yorkshire, close to major network roads and the M18, bringing much-needed jobs to the region.”

Lazarus Properties is based in South Yorkshire owning and operating more than 275,000 sq ft of leisure and retail properties in Doncaster as well as an additional 100,000 sq ft throughout the country.

Dan added: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Lazarus, bringing together Stoford’s national industrial development expertise and Lazarus Properties’ strong local track record.”
