Has the housing market packed up for Christmas?



New property listings fell by almost a quarter (22%) in November compared with October, according to the latest property supply index by HouseSimple.com.


The online estate agents compared new property supply across 100 major UK towns and cities in October and November.

More than two-thirds (67%) of UK towns and cities saw fewer new sellers listing their properties in November.

Bath – a city popular with homebuyers – saw new property listings fall by 50% on the October figure.

Watford saw 40% fewer new sellers advertising their properties in November.

In London, new sellers in November dropped by almost a third (30.3%) on October, and there wasn’t a single borough which saw an increase in supply in November, with Kingston upon Thames witnessing a 42.5% drop in new property listings.
