Wanda One – the UK subsidiary of Chinese real estate company Dalian Wanda Group – had originally signed a pre-construction services agreement with Balfour Beatty.
However, in November, both firms confirmed that they would not be proceeding to a full contract award for the project.
Multiplex will now serve as the main contractor for the 437-home development, which will boast a five-star hotel, business centre and fitness suite across two towers comprising 42 and 58 floors respectively.
Tim Gawthorn, director at Wanda One (UK), said: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Multiplex as our main contractor for the delivery of One Nine Elms.
“Following the EU referendum, this important announcement further demonstrates our commitment to deliver an iconic mixed-use development in the heart of London.”
One Nine Elms is part of the largest regeneration project in Europe.
The Nine Elms scheme will transform three kilometres of riverside near Battersea Power Station into a residential, business and leisure destination.
