Lovell reveals plans for 78-home Welsh development

Housing construction company Lovell has announced plans to build 78 homes in Llantarnam, Cwmbran near Newport in south-east Wales.

The development will convert the former site of Llantarnam Community Primary School into 55 brand-new two-, three- and four-bedroom houses available for open market sale.

Some of the homes will be available under the Welsh government-backed Help to Buy scheme, which will offer purchasers the chance to secure a brand-new home for as little as a 5% deposit.

The remaining 23 homes will go to Bron Afon housing association to be offered as affordable rented homes.

Kate Rees, regional managing director for Lovell in south Wales and the South West (pictured above), said: “We’re very excited to be creating this attractive collection of contemporary homes so close to Cwmbran town centre and within a 20-minute drive of Newport, Cardiff and Swansea.

“Featuring high-quality, beautifully designed interiors, these superb properties will appeal to a wide range of home seekers, from first-time buyers and downsizers to families, with a mix of house styles on offer, including 35 three-bedroom detached houses, 11 four-bedroom detached homes and nine two-bedroom homes.”

The first new homes will be made available to reserve in early autumn 2017, but the overall development is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019.
