Sustainable housebuilder posts record year

Larkfleet Homes has published record operating and financial results for the year after achieving an 83% increase in the number of homes built.

During the 12 months to the end of June 2017, Larkfleet built 399 homes, while turnover hit almost £80m, up from £49m in 2016.

Larkfleet consists of two major brands: Larkfleet Homes, which specialises in timber-framed homes, and Allison Homes, which builds traditional brick-and-block constructed homes.

“The housebuilding industry has been through some difficult years recently,” said Karl Hick, CEO of Larkfleet Homes.

“However, I am pleased to say that Larkfleet weathered the storms of the recession and we are rapidly expanding our activities.”

Larkfleet recently secured a £35m loan from Cheyne Capital Management to allow it to finance its expansion plans.

The loan will enable Larkfleet to expand its operations and invest in existing and new sites.

Currently, Larkfleet’s core activity is in Peterborough, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Rutland.

However, it has launched subsidiaries in Scotland, the South West of England and East Anglia.

The company hopes to achieve even stronger results for the current year with parts of the business expected to substantially increase sales.

“We are now building more houses on more sites than ever before,” added Karl.

“In all the places where we are active, we are delivering high-quality and energy-efficient new homes that will enable people to ‘get a foot on the property ladder’ and help to tackle the nation’s housing crisis.”
