Project Etopia completes first four modular houses in 34 days

Project Etopia has completed the construction of the first four houses for what is claimed to be London’s only modular commuter village in 34 days.

Having bought the site in 2018, the housing developer has now completed the construction of four three-storey townhouses in Corby, Northamptonshire.

Project Etopia’s 47-home development at Priors Hall Park will comprise of 31 houses and 16 apartments which will be equipped with the developer’s e-Smart technology, giving owners control over their power consumption, lighting, blinds, heating and more.

Each house will also have a GeoStore system which stores heat energy while batteries store electricity.

“These homes have shot out of the ground,” said Joseph Daniels, CEO at Project Etopia.

“It’s an immensely proud moment because these are the first non-demonstration homes that we have built, and they were ahead of schedule and on budget.

“They’re a wonderful example of how modular building will provide luxury, desirable homes for everyone with cost, labour and time savings, keeping prices at an affordable level.

“The housing crisis is keeping many trapped in a cycle of renting, and only by rapidly accelerating housebuilding can policymakers ensure this changes.”
