Housing associations partner to help create 36 new affordable homes

Cairn Housing Association and Angus Housing Association have partnered to help create 36 new affordable homes at Railton Crescent in Arbroath, Angus.

Cairn will provide the repairs and maintenance for the 36 properties, while Angus Housing Association will carry out tenancy management.

The £8.1m residential development was built by Persimmon Homes, with a £4.5m grant provided by the Scottish Government.

The scheme consists of 71 affordable homes and is set to be opened by local MSP Graeme Dey.

“We pride ourselves on providing great homes and services and we’re proud to have worked in partnership with Angus Housing Association to develop much needed affordable homes in the local area,” said Jason MacGilp, chief executive at Cairn.

“Cairn is fully committed to building excellent, quality housing as part of our five-year development plan to build 400 homes across Scotland by 2022/23 which will help meet the needs of communities across the country.”

Ron McArthur, asset manager at Angus Housing Association, added: “Working closely with Cairn and Persimmon Homes, this is an excellent example of how associations can jointly deliver high quality housing.”
