Radian and Linden Homes form JV to build 120 homes in West Sussex

Housing provider Radian has formed a joint venture with housebuilder Linden Homes to build 120 new homes at Reeds Lane, Sayers Common in West Sussex.

More than two-thirds of the properties (84) will be available for private sale, with the remaining 36 available as affordable homes.

The site has outline planning consent with a reserved matters application already submitted.

The affordable homes will be purchased by Swaythling Housing Society, which is a subsidiary of Radian.

The development — which is expected to contribute more than £1.3m to the local area — will comprise one- and two-bedroom apartments as well as a range of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom houses.

Construction is set to commence in July with the reserved matters planning application expected to be determined soon.

“Entering into [a] joint venture with Linden Homes at Sayers Common is an excellent opportunity for us to provide a high-quality mix of affordable and open market housing,” said James Pennington, development director at Radian.

“We’re looking to build 3,500 new homes by 2023 and increasing our joint venture activity is a key part of our development strategy.”
