Springfield secures planning consent for its largest development

Springfield Properties has received planning consent for its 3,042-home village development at Durieshill, Stirling.

This is the housebuilder’s largest development to receive planning permission to date.

With a GDV of approximately £650m, the scheme will comprise affordable and private rented sector (PRS) homes.

The development will also include a primary school, secondary school and library, a 30-unit care facility for the elderly and commercial units.

The housebuilder expects to start work on site by late autumn 2020, with the first homeowners moving in during 2022.

The Durieshill development received conditional approval from the environment and housing committee of Stirling Council.

Planning consent for the scheme is subject to the completion of a section 75 agreement with Stirling Council.

Innes Smith, CEO at Springfield Properties, said: “We are proud of the progress that we have achieved with our village developments and we will now work diligently to ensure everything is in place to commence work on site at Durieshill by late autumn 2020.

“Our villages are designed to accelerate the provision of the many new homes needed across Scotland as well as provide everything a community needs to flourish.”
