Sweeney Group completes Kilmarnock conversion project

Sweeney Group has completed the conversion of a former council building in Kilmarnock, Scotland.

The site at Bridge Lane — which is over 3,600 sq ft — was transformed within 10 months into four two-bedroom flats and a single one-bedroom flat.

Three of the five refurbished properties have been secured by tenants, with enquiries handled by Let’s Agree Sales and Lettings.

Stephen Sweeney, who heads up Sweeney Group, said: “Many people are putting in a lot of work to bring the centre of Kilmarnock back to life, and we firmly support the council’s strategy on bringing people back to live and work in the town.

“The key to reviving our town centres is to bring people back in.

“People who live locally want to shop locally, so creating homes has great knock-on effects for the town’s economy.

Fiona Lees, chief executive at East Ayrshire Council, welcomed the efforts of the developers as a vital component in the wider campaign to revive the town centre.
