ARTAL appoints head to new fund monitoring business

Manchester-based construction consultancy ARTAL has launched a dedicated fund monitoring arm to its business, and has appointed Robert Simpson to lead it (pictured above).

He has spent 14 years providing project monitoring services for Arcadis, AECOM, CBRE and Naismiths.

His new role as head of fund monitoring will incorporate growing and managing ARTAL’s nationwide project monitoring service.

The department will provide technical knowledge to funding institutions when deciding whether to agree a development funding loan.

“Our clients have never been in greater need of expert guidance,” said Robert.

“All projects have their challenges and having a good eye for risk is a large part of the battle.

“However, true success boils down to creating an environment of trust and transparency where issues are shared at the earliest opportunity.”

In a joint statement, Alex Farmer and Stuart Taylor, founding directors at ARTAL, added: “In this challenging time, we felt the best response to increasing demand was to create a specialist team, dedicated to meeting the needs of our funding clients.

“…Having worked with Robert on several landmark schemes, we were in no doubt he was the right [person] to lead this service”.
