In his new role, he will predominantly cover the Glasgow area, but will also be available to help businesses in the rest of Scotland and the north of England.
Simon, who has significant SME lending and sales experience, joins the lender from Lloyds Bank, where he worked for the last decade in a variety of roles, including head of regional sales, area director, head of SME trade and, most recently, relationship director.
“I’m really excited to be joining Assetz Capital at this time of growth, and I’m most looking forward to supporting property professionals through our real-world lending approach,” said Simon.

“I’m keen to speak to property investors and landlords that are looking to expand and grow, as that is where my expertise lies; I can’t wait to get started.”
Andrew Fraser, regional director for the North at Assetz Capital, added: “Simon bolsters the team with added strength and knowledge, having covered multiple regional locations and property-related sectors.
“His recruitment will be a major part of our strategy to build our lending volume growth through support of regional housebuilders and property investors.
“We really welcome Simon’s appointment as we look to finish the year strongly.”
Simon’s appointment comes during a period of growth for Assetz Capital.
It also follows the appointment of Andrew Charnley as managing director, and Irene Thomas as head of lending operations.
