AJC Group announces senior promotions

AJC Group has promoted John Langley, Mike Young and Tarek Tabbah to head of commercial, head of construction and head of technical, respectively.

John takes up the newly created role after previously working at AJC Group as a senior quantity surveyor; prior to this, he held roles at Midas Group and Greendale Construction.

Meanwhile, Mike was promoted from construction operation manager — his initial job when he joined the affordable housing specialist in Feb 2021.

Before being part of AJC Group, Mike held several roles at Bloor Homes and Churchill Retirement Living.

Lastly, Tarek — who is also an active member of the Institute of Civil Engineers — was promoted to his new role as head of technical, after working as a technical manager since 2021.

Prior to joining AJC Group, he worked at Drew Smith Homes, Inland Homes and Persimmon Homes.

The promotions were made to facilitate the firm’s growth, following an increasing number of residential development projects on-site or in the pipeline — including seven schemes already under construction.

AJC Group is on track to deliver over 200 mixed-tenure homes during 2023, reflecting a total construction value in excess of £100m.

The affordable housing specialist has also appointed several new team members to support its growth.

Seb Janes, managing director at AJC Group, said: “The business is going through an exciting transition period, and we have grown from a team of 12 to 32 just in the past 18 months.

“Our vision for the future is to become the leading affordable housing developer across the Wessex region, which we are proudly on track to achieve.

“With the recent new hires and promotions, we are advancing and expanding our operations, in order to introduce more efficiencies and work with our partners to deliver the highest quality, energy-efficient affordable homes.”
