Pocket Planet to revive Oxford Street with immersive attraction

Leisure experience developer Pocket Planet has revealed the details of a new immersive experiential attraction for London, expecting to attract over one million visitors per year.

The developer is building an innovative visitor and retail experience offering Londoners, visitors, and tourists of all ages and nationalities affordable and inclusive access to an immersive journey, featuring small-scale, but very large model landscapes of UK landmarks, London itself, and scenes from around the world.

The 30,000 sq ft experiential attraction — located at 500 Oxford Street, in between Marble Arch and Bond Street station — with a passing footfall of over 150 million people per year.

Pocket Planet aims to enhance physical models with audio and visual effects.

Mark Vlassopulos, CEO at Pocket Planet, commented: “Our ambition is to create the best and most attractive tourist attraction in the UK.

“It is the tourism hotspot of the UK and Pocket Planet will be a special space — an attraction on the scale of something that London hasn’t seen before.”

Mark Brodermann, COO at Pocket Planet, added: “The team we’ve put together draws on the best of breed in leisure interior design and some of the greatest modellers in the world.

“As a high volume, but at an affordable ticket price, attraction, the miniature world concept works very well.

“It has a relatively low operating cost, but a very metronomic and steady flow of income from ticket sales.”

The exhibit is expected to open in early 2025, with the retail and café planned to open in Spring 2024.
