A company director has been banned from trading following an investigation by the Insolvency Service into a multi-million pound land banking scandal. Mr John Mahon, Director of CLS & Partners .

The Secured Loan Network is proud to have recently added Airdrie Savings Bank (ASB) to its panel of commercial lenders. B&C Distributor heard from Andy MacMillan, Business Development Director at The Secured Loan Network, to find out more…

ASB has recently extended its reach outside of Lanarkshire with the opening of a new branch in Falkirk. ASB is very active in lending within mainland Scotland and it has an excellent attitude to lending in the development finance sector.

Iain Campbell, Senior Manager Business Development at Airdrie Savings Bank, said: "Airdrie Savings Bank is delighted to be associated with The Secured Loan Network in offering lending to all types of business sectors. As Britain's only independent savings bank, our traditional and prudent approach to lending has stood us in good stead. We aim to expand this business on a progressive basis by meeting clients either at their place of business or in any one of our eight branches.”

Scotland has for a very long time been an area that many lenders shy away from, especially in the adverse credit market. It is a breath of fresh air to have a Scottish based lender taking an active role in supporting Scottish Business. We can also offer access to the Lloyds Group commercial lending products.

With both of these lenders on our panel we feel that we have an excellent product portfolio to choose from. However, if a deal falls out of the lending criteria of these lenders then we also have Lancashire Mortgages Corporation of the Blemain Group to call upon.

Gary Bailey, Director at the Blemain Group, stated: “We have conducted business with The Secured Loan Network for many years, few brokers have their extensive knowledge and experience, and we are delighted we form an essential part of their lender panel.”

The market in Scotland has obviously taken a bit of a dip with the recession, however our experience tells us that we have not suffered as greatly as properties South of the border and it remains an excellent prospect to lenders.

The Secured Loan Network will continue to champion the cause in Scotland and are always on the look out for new and innovative lenders to break into the Scottish market. We have an excellent relationship with property experts, Wilson McKendrick solicitors, and they are always available to assist us with questions relating to property security in Scotland.
