Martin Gilsenan joins Iron Bridge Finance

Martin Gilsenan (pictured above) has joined property development lender Iron Bridge Finance as its new director of sales..

The former Fortwell Capital sales director will be leading and developing the London-based group’s ambitious sales programme and reporting directly to chief executive officer Lance Joseph.

As a member of the senior management team, he will also provide strategic oversight and advice.

Martin held the role of sales director at Fortwell Capital from 2011 to May 2017 and played an instrumental part in its transformation from bridging lender to provider of high-value funding to entrepreneurial real estate developers.

Martin left the lender alongside BDM Matt Rogers, CEO Colin Sanders and head of communications and PR Bob Sturges.

Prior to his time at Fortwell, Martin held senior sales roles at Money Partners Ltd, GE Money Home Lending and iGroup. He was also a founding director and shareholder of brokerages Residential 1 and Commercial 1.

“Joining Iron Bridge at this exciting time in its development is precisely the next type of business challenge I was seeking,” said Martin.

“They have built an impressive proposition and I'm hugely looking forward to working with Lance and the team.”

Iron Bridge invests its own funds to provide mezzanine and top-up finance on residential and mixed-use development projects and also offers bridging finance.

The lender’s objective is to bridge the gap between senior debt and equity within the capital stack.

“The need and demand for competitive mezzanine finance has rarely been greater, which, I believe, provides Iron Bridge – the market’s ‘best-kept-secret’ – with a unique opportunity to achieve and exceed its objectives,” Martin stated.

“We are delighted he has decided to join us and so add his considerable professional weight to our ambitious programme for growth and expansion.”

Iron Bridge lends between £250,000 and £7m in areas of high demand across England and Wales.
