Living Space appoints senior land manager

Affordable housing specialist Living Space Housing has appointed Joe Gilday as senior land manager.

Gilday will be tasked with site acquisitions in the west midlands region for the Solihull-based business.

This will involve assessing a site’s feasibility for development, compiling bids, negotiating deals and guiding purchases through the legal process.

He was previously land manager at Seven Homes and, prior to that role, was a development acquisition manager at Quinta Group.

In this new role he will work alongside colleagues in the land and planning team.

Paul Breen, managing director for Living Space said “we delighted to be welcoming Joe to the team, with his extensive experience and passion for the role he will play a key part in delivering our growth strategy, specifically in the west midlands, where there is an acute need for an affordable housing provision.”

Living Space currently has seven live sites across Bedfordshire, Herefordshire, West Midlands, Wiltshire and Worcestershire with a gross development value of over £90m.

The expansion of Living Space’s in-house land team is in line with the company’s growth plans to deliver around 400 new homes every year.

Gilday added: “Living Space has quickly developed a strong reputation for delivering high quality, sustainable affordable homes and I’m excited to join the business at this stage of its growth cycle, helping to identify viable sites where we can help build new communities within the region.”
