Knight Property completes £10m Aberdeen build

Knight Property Group has completed construction of a £10m Wickes store in Aberdeen.

The purpose-built 25,000 sq ft store, with 79 parking spaces, was built by main contractor Clark Contracts.

The new building is a steel frame design, with a composite wall and roof cladding, and has been designed so a mezzanine floor can be fitted to increase store capacity.

The site at Kingshill Park, in the Westhill area of Aberdeen, has now been formally handed over to Wickes.

The home improvement chain is now fitting out the store ahead of its opening in August. This is expected to bring about 25 new jobs to the local economy.

"The successful completion of this project brings positive news,” said Howard Crawshaw, managing director of Knight Property Group.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Wickes back into Aberdeen and also into our portfolio of tenancies at Westhill, enhancing the offerings for customers around Westhill.”

Wickes currently has over 230 stores in the UK, with existing Scottish sites in Dumfries, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Perth and Stirling.
