Beaufort completes facility for Glasgow PBSA

Beaufort Capital has completed a facility to fund a 321-bed PBSA development in Glasgow city centre.

The PBSA will include a cafe and co-working space along with student lounge, study room, gym and 7,375 sq ft of outside terrace space split over five floors — In total there will be 53 sq ft per bedspace.

This site is located within a short distance of the University of Glasgow, Strathclyde University and Glasgow Caledonian University.

Demolition of a former office building on the site is underway to make room, with the scheme forecast to be open in time for the 2026/27 academic year.

An unnamed but “highly experienced” developer of both residential and commercial projects, who has delivered multiple regeneration projects over 15 years in Scotland and England, has been secured for this PBSA.

Joe Flaherty, director of Beaufort Capital, highlighted that although Glasgow has one of the largest student populations in the UK it has a “structural undersupply of quality PBSA”.

“This project will make an excellent addition to the city’s student offering, and a stand-out development in the client’s already-impressive portfolio of projects,” added Joe.

“We have been working with this highly-regarded developer for more than seven years, and we look forward to seeing this landmark site taking shape over the coming months.”
