Persimmon gets approval for 199-home Tyneside scheme

Persimmon has secured planning permission to build 199 new homes on Tyneside.

North Tyneside councillors unanimously voted to approve the scheme in the Wallsend area of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

The Fallow Park development will deliver a mixture of properties including apartments, terraced, semi-detached and detached houses.

Approval was granted in 2018 for up to 593 homes on the land, with 25% of which being transferred to a housing provider or sold at a discount rate.

Richard Cook, land director for the North East at Persimmon, said: “This development will provide a range of house types for young people, families and downsizers alike with excellent access to local amenities.
“In addition to delivering much needed quality new housing, approval of these plans secures further investment in North Tyneside.”
Persimmon is providing £3.8m of funding to improving local education, sports and healthcare facilities in the area.
