Atelier hires new lending manager

Atelier has boosted its origination team with the appointment of Suraj Lakhanpal (pictured above) as lending manager.

Suraj has been hired to work closely with intermediaries and developers to structure loan solutions.

He brings almost two decades of experience in finance, lending and portfolio management to the role.

Most recently, Suraj was business development manager at BLG Development Finance.

Prior to that, he was a senior manager of residential development finance at Homes England and has also held roles at Pepper Money, Nationwide and the Bank of Scotland.

His specialisms include risk management, loan origination and deal restructuring in the residential, PBSA, BTR and care real estate sectors.

Chris Gardner, CEO at Atelier, said Suraj has been hired at an “exciting time” for both the company and the property market.

“We recently published research predicting a significant upturn in the residential market, which will present good opportunities for SME developers, and our originations team are here to structure loan solutions so that developers can capitalise on these opportunities and continue to build much-needed homes across the country,” added Chris.
