The housebuilder has partnered with Cobalt Housing to provide the units at Lickers Lane in Whiston, Knowsley, which will be available for affordable rent and rent-to-buy.
In June 2024, Vistry secured planning permission for 120 homes on the site. The remaining 54 units will be sold on the open market by Linden Homes.
These 120 homes will be a mixture of three and four-bed homes, as well as 12 two-bed apartments.
“We are absolutely committed to creating vibrant, mixed-tenure communities that address local housing needs,” said Gemma Hardy, managing director at Vistry Merseyside and Cheshire West.
“Partnering with Cobalt Housing at Lickers Lane allows us to provide high-quality, affordable homes within the Halsnead Garden Village masterplan.

Initial enabling works on the site have begun and Vistry is expecting to hand the new jokes to Cobalt by March 2026.
Louise Davies, executive director of communities and regeneration for Cobalt Housing, added: “We are delighted to have entered into contract with Vistry on this significant scheme. This is a key milestone for Cobalt as we work to achieve one of our key corporate priorities to deliver 1,000 new homes over the coming years.”
The Halsnead Garden Village masterplan has a target to deliver 1,600 new homes.
