Vistry partners with L&G on 272-home Kent site

Vistry has partnered with Legal & General Affordable Homes for the development of 272 homes on a site in Maidstone, Kent.

The development will include 136 affordable homes, with the rest to be sold privately under Vistry’s Linden Homes brand.

Properties will include one and two-bedroom apartments, with two, three and four-bedroom houses.

Extensive preparation work is being carried out at the former Tovil quarry site off Farleigh Hill. Quarrying ended at the site in the mid-1960s and from 2010 work has been carried out to remove waste and landfill materials.

Work has been taking place since December 2023 to prepare the site for construction which is expected to begin in January 2025.

“The extensive work being carried out here is laying the foundations to transform this site into an attractive new residential neighbourhood which will provide new housing for the local area,” said Brendan Evans, managing director at Vistry Kent.

“And our partnership with Legal & General Affordable Homes will allow us to create even more affordable homes than required, putting the high-quality homes we will build here within reach of a wider range of people.”
