This will allow the CMA to carry out additional evidence gathering, as well as the required analysis and review.
In a note accompanying the investigation update, the CMA stressed it has not yet reached a view as to whether or not there is sufficient evidence yet for it to issue a statement of objections.
The investigation was first launched in February 2024 amid suspected breaches of competition law, relating to concerns that sensitive information was being shared between parties.
The housebuilders being investigated are Barratt Redrow, Bellway, Berkeley Group, Bloor Homes, Persimmon, Taylor Wimpey and Vistry.
