Top 100 construction projects to deliver £34bn boost in 2025

The top 100 construction projects due to start in 2025 will generate £34bn worth of work, according to data provider Glenigan.

Civil engineering is due to provide the biggest boost with 45 of these top 100 projects, including the five biggest schemes set to begin this year.

The largest of these is the £8bn Hornsea Project Four which will provide 180 wind turbines in Yorkshire and start in July.

Twenty of these top 100 projects are in the residential sector with a combined £4bn of value.

Glenigan ascribes this directly to the Labour government’s goal of delivering 1.5 million new homes over the next few years.

Eleven of these residential projects are in the private sector. The largest of these, ranked 14th overall, is the £400m Spray Street Quarter development in London.

Nine social housing schemes are also in the list with a total of £2.3bn of value.

Elsewhere, utilities and infrastructure are set to provide construction boosts with £17bn and £7bn forecast, respectively.
