Kennedy Wilson secures 15-year tenant for 30,000 sq ft space

Kennedy Wilson has secured a 15-year lease commitment from Wood Mackenzie for 30,000 sq ft at its Waverley Gate property in Edinburgh.

This space will service as headquarters for the data and analytics solutions provider.

The latest lease follows a total of 113,000 sq ft of lettings at the address, from five occupiers including Royal London, Forrit, Amazon, Gallagher and the Scottish government.

Since acquiring the property in 2022, Kennedy Wilson has invested in it to achieve an EPC rating of ‘B’ and BREEAM accreditation of ‘very good’.

This included a refurbishment and the construction of four large roof terraces, shower facilities, a cafe, gym, cycle storage and car parking spaces.

“As staff continue to return to the office, the ongoing leasing momentum at Waverley Gate demonstrates the demand for prime office space in Edinburgh, where supply remains extremely constrained,” said Matthew Milroy, managing director at Kennedy Wilson Europe.

“We identified an opportunity to invest in the property, repositioning it further to improve its sustainability credentials and attractiveness to occupiers.

"As a result, we’ve maintained very high occupancy and grown income, whilst also setting a record rent for Edinburgh at the end of 2024.”

Kennedy Wilson was advised by JLL and Cushman & Wakefield.
