Green light for 180 Persimmon Somerset homes

Persimmon has secured planning permission for 180 homes in Midsomer Norton, Somerset.

Construction on the site, which gained outline planning consent in February 2025, will commence in the next few months with occupations beginning by the end of the year.

Of this development, called Wellow Brook, 54 properties will be reserved for a local housing association as affordable housing.

“Wellow Brook will have a strong sense of place at the heart of its design, with new green open spaces, ecological enhancements and carefully designed new homes that incorporate local character features,” said Seb Spiller, managing director at Persimmon Homes Wessex.

“Persimmon looks forward to continuing our work with local stakeholders as we seek to deliver quality new homes, jobs, and infrastructure for the local community.”
