Vistry gets greenlight for 202 East Herts homes

Vistry has secured planning permission for 202 homes in its Bishop’s Stortford North development in east Hertfordshire.

These mark the final phase of the wider 2,200 homes, 627 of which are being delivered by Vistry.

Of the 202 homes being delivered in this last phase, 59 will be delivered as affordable rent properties and 11 as shared equity homes.

Construction on this final phase is expected to begin in summer 2026.

The first completions are forecast for summer 2027, with the entire scheme due to complete in autumn 2029.

“Securing approval for our final parcel at Bishop’s Stortford North represents an important step forward for the wider community,” said Verity Macey, managing director at Vistry Home Counties Central.

“We’re proud to be delivering much-needed mixed-tenure homes that will support local housing demand while completing a development that has been many years in the making.

“We look forward to getting underway this summer and progressing towards first handovers in 2027.”
