Vistry secures permission for 469 Huddersfield homes

Vistry has secured planning permission to build 469 homes in Huddersfield.

In line with Vistry’s partner-delivery model, 154 units have been forward sold to housing provider Vico Homes.

The site is located on former industrial and agricultural land and these approved plans will include green corridors, a central park and outdoor play areas. A 10% biodiversity net gain will be targeted.

The remaining homes will be delivered as either private rent or open market sale using Vistry’s Bovis Homes retail brand. Alongside Vistry, Miller Homes will deliver a further 231 homes.

“This significant site is a great example of what Vistry does best — regenerating a brownfield site while partnering with others to deliver a range of housing choice,” said Andrew Poyner, managing director at Vistry West Yorkshire.

“We look forward to work now getting underway and to creating this vibrant new community in Huddersfield.”

Joel Owen, director for development and growth at Vico Homes, added: “It’s fantastic to work with Vistry again to deliver more affordable homes.

“We have a bold vision to deliver 10,000 new homes and partnerships like this are at the heart of this journey.

“Working together means we can make a bigger difference and provide more homes for more people in more places. We’re looking forward to seeing these homes take shape.”
