Manchester construction firm enters administration

FK Construction Ltd has entered administration, appointing BTG to oversee the process.

Headquartered in Altrincham, the firm worked on numerous high-profile projects across the North West.

These included the expansion of both Manchester City’s and Liverpool’s stadia, as well as several hospitals, schools and power plants.

FK Construction is part of the wider FK Group, a facade specialist that has been trading since 1979.

The wider group has also been struggling and recently entered administration too, appointing BTG for this as well.

This failure comes as concerns mount over the state of the construction industry, with trade bodies repeatedly calling for more support from the government amid an ongoing skills shortage and recent reports of falling construction activity in several sectors.

Development Finance Today has contacted both FK Group and BTG for comment.
