Persimmon has hired James Holmes as its new finance director for the East Wales region.

James joins after serving in the same position for Barratt Redrow Southampton. Prior to that role, he spent over 10 years working as finance manager in the housebuilder’s South Wales division.

At Persimmon, he will be responsible for the business’s strategic financial planning in the region, from budgeting to forecasting. Persimmon Homes East Wales has live and forthcoming sites in Caerphilly, Ebbw Vale, and Merthyr Tydfil, as well as Capel Llanilltern in Cardiff and Llanwern in Newport.

“James brings a wealth of experience in the housebuilding industry and having him join Persimmon to oversee our finance operations is something we celebrate,” said Lee Hawker, managing director at Persimmon Homes East Wales. “His expertise and background will be invaluable as we continue to improve our finance operations, whether that be working alone or in partnership with others to deliver homes local people can afford."

James added: “It’s great to be back in Wales and I’m looking forward to playing a part in the continued success of the business."
