Vistry to deliver 72 affordable homes in Birmingham

Vistry has exchanged contracts to deliver 72 affordable homes in Winson Green, Birmingham.

This project will be based on seven acres of brownfield land which was formerly used for railway and industrial purposes.

Subject to planning, Vistry will regenerate the site with a detail application expected to be made later this year.

“This significant regeneration scheme will transform a challenging brownfield site into 72 high-quality, affordable homes,” said Dave Bradley, managing director at Vistry North Midlands.

“We share the government’s ambition to deliver homes at pace and scale, and by working closely with Birmingham City Council we can help create a vibrant, sustainable community that meets local housing needs.”

Joe Williams, director at Avison Young, added: “Alongside our joint agents, Ashlawn Chase, we’re proud to have supported Rochda Group Ltd on this disposal.

“We managed to secure in excess of 10 offers from very credible parties that clearly recognised the potential of the site.

“We are delighted to have secured Vistry/Countryside as a development partner on this opportunity, and look forward to seeing them bring forward a quality scheme with much needed affordable housing.”
