The AOBP has welcomed bridging’s newest challenger bank, Aldermore, as an Associate Lender.

Aldermore Bank has joined the Association of Bridging Professionals (AOBP) after entering the bridging market at the start of June.

The bank joined the association, following its launch in to the bridging market with a product range including a unique Bridge to Term offering.

Aldermore Residential and Commercial Mortgages Managing Director, Charles Haresnape, said: “We are delighted to be joining the Association of Bridging Professionals and with our recent entry into the bridging market, it is essential that we work with organisations like the AOBP.

“We are excited about the potential that the bridging market holds, given that earlier this year it reached £2bn. We look forward to working closely with the AOBP and its members.”

In addition to this announcement, Aldermore has also made changes within its senior leadership team.

Commercial Mortgage Managing Director, Rob Lankey who has helped lead the bank since its launch in 2009, will now become the bank’s Director of Group Distribution.

Also, Charles Haresnape, currently the Managing Director of Residential Mortgages, will take on the joint role of Managing Director for Residential and Commercial Mortgages.

Charles has recently become Chairman of the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association and is an Executive Committee member of CML.

Commenting on the senior team changes, Deputy CEO and Group Commercial Director at Aldermore, Mark Stephens, said: ““Rob Lankey will be playing a vital role working across the group to ensure delivery of core strategic initiatives including the development of our cross-sales strategy, while Charles Haresnape will continue to build on the success of the mortgage businesses across our property development, commercial and residential mortgage ranges.”
