Wolverhampton City Council has invested £10.6 million into the regeneration and growth of the city centre.

Building work has started on the Interchange 10 scheme, which will offer high quality office accommodation, as well as the redevelopment of the railway station and Metro stop. The project has already attracted interest from a number of potential retailers and businesses and is hoped to attract further investment, create jobs and form part of the new central transport hub.

The scheme is being delivered by Balfour Beatty and Neptune Developments and aims to be completed by the end of 2015.

“The Grade A office space, along with new leisure and retail facilities, will keep up the momentum of the Interchange project and send out a clear message that Wolverhampton city centre is a place to locate,” said Steve Parry, Managing Director of Neptune Developments.

Dave Ronan, Balfour Beatty's Director of Operations, Northern Major Projects, added: "As a contractor with a focus on sustainability, Balfour Beatty is committed working with Wolverhampton City Council and Neptune Developments to deliver for the people and economy of Wolverhampton.

“Seeing building work get underway is hugely encouraging for people and business in Wolverhampton and demonstrates confidence and optimism in the city to potential investors,” said
Peter Bilson, Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration and Prosperity at Wolverhampton City Council.

"It is a major milestone for this leading city centre regeneration project which will create jobs and attract further investment.”
