An Accounts Manager of a law firm has been blacklisted after being sentenced for a major betrayal.

Alan Gareth Stevens(SRA ID 614580) has been prohibited from working at any solicitor’s practice after the Solicitor’s Regulation Authority deemed it would be undesirable following his criminal conviction.

Mr Stevens worked as an Accounts Manager at London-based law firm Chadbourne and Parke (London) LLP, which traded in real estate. It was found that between May 2012 and October 2012, he stole £10,000 from the firm’s office account.

Mr Stevens was convicted of theft on the 25th April last year by the Central Criminal Court. He was given a suspended prison sentence on the 6th June, as well as an order to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work within two years.

The SRA considered all papers and annexed pages, along with the Certificate of Mr Stevens’ conviction, before deciding to make a section 43 order enforcing that he should not be employed in connection with a solicitor’s practice as of the 28th January.
