This morning DFT caught up with the head honcho of property investment firm Strawberry Star -  Dorian Beresford.

Hopeful: Dorian Beresford

Dorian, appointed as the group’s CEO in November 2014, was speaking at an exclusive preview of the launch of Strawberry Star’s exciting new London Docklands project “Hoola” in partnership with developers Hub.

Hoola, Strawberry Star’s latest venture in the capital, encompasses two giant towers situated ideally between the calming tranquillity of London Royal Victoria Docks and the necessary hustle and bustle of the area’s main transport links.

A combination of 360 flats, offering one bedroom studios to three bedroom properties, Hoola - developed by both Strawberry Star and in partnership with developers HUB - offers investors and home hunters a stunning 360 degree view of the historic docklands as well as the Thames and surrounding locations.

Set to be open for business in 2016, Dorian spoke to us about the development itself and also revealed his belief that the docklands themselves are on track to become London’s next major hub.

He said: “The two Hoola towers will become iconic simply because there’s nothing else like them.

“When you look at the placement of where they are it really is the gateway to the Royal Docks.

“This is an area which has £20billion worth of opportunity for investment. The design and architecture of these towers, particularly the fact that they sit on a landscaped hill, I believe, really does set this development apart.

“Aside from the DLR, we’ve got the Crossrail project coming to this area in 2018, we have the Asian Business Port investment which will create 20,000 jobs and raise £6 billion for the economy and we have the fact that the population here is set to double.

“We also have an expanding workforce in Canary Warf where people are looking for slightly cheaper places to live.

“So there’s huge regeneration that’s happening which is really going to change the fabric of the area.

“This will be a good place to live, this will be a good place to work and for investment it’s a fantastic opportunity.

“The potential which I’ve mentioned is what first attracted us here.”
