A London property developer has announced a ground-breaking partnership with the English National Ballet.
Eco World Ballymore’s second phrase of London City Island comprises of 417 new homes and aims to be a ‘mini Manhattan’ with a 260ft red bridge to link the island to Canning Town.
The Island will also become home to the English National Ballet which, acting as a landmark for the island, will occupy unique rehearsal spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows designed to allow passers-by to experience the ballet’s magic.
Sean Mulryan, Chairman and CEO of Ballymore Group, said the partnership demonstrated its commitment to establish London City as one of the most exciting destinations in London.
“We are honoured that the English National Ballet, a truly inspiring artistic institution, has decided to make its new permanent home there,” said Sean.

Glenn Howells Architects is responsible for the design of the Island, and its buildings will be based on cities such as Chicago, Tokyo and Manhattan with apartments featuring open plan living spaces.
Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin, Chairman of Eco World Ballymore, said they aimed to combine the imagination and expertise of the two companies to create “spectacular new residential destinations.”
