UK housebuilding and construction group Galliford Try has won a £55.75m contract to build a new school for the Shetland Islands….
Galliford Try had announced that its Morrison Construction business will carry out the construction of the new 4-storey high school for up to 1,180 pupils along with a 3-storey 100-bed residential block to replace the existing school.
Greg Fitzgerald, Galliford Try Executive Chairman, said they were delighted to be working with the Shetland Islands Council to provide a facility local people could be proud of.
“The new Anderson High School represents a significant investment by the Shetland Islands Council on behalf of the community it serves,” said Greg.
"This latest contract complements our growing portfolio of construction projects for the education sector and through working closely with all stakeholders, we will deliver a building with first-class facilities which will greatly benefit the local community and enhance the facilities for education in the region."
