The National Housing Federation has announced the line-up for its annual conference in Birmingham.
The conference aims to define the agenda for social housing and provide an opportunity to discuss how the government and the sector can work together to end the housing crisis.
Secretary of State for the Department for Communities and Local Government Greg Clark MP has been named as a speaker, alongside BBC broadcaster Jonathan Dimbleby and Political Editor of Sky News Faisal Islam.
Running between 23rd and 25th September, the conference will offer the first post-budget opportunity “for the housing world to come together and engage in vital discussions,” according to Chief Executive David Orr.
“We know that the Budget has posed significant challenges to housing associations,” continued David.
“That is why it is more important than ever that the sector meets under one roof to discuss the challenges and identify innovative, constructive and cooperative methods of continuing to provide social housing for all those who need it.”
• Other speakers include Jon Rouse, Director General for Social Care at the Department of Health and Barbara Cassani, a businesswoman and entrepreneur who will examine how organisations can use creativity to overcome financial pressures.
The Annual Conference will take place during the Federation summit at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham along with the Social Enterprise, Work and Wellbeing Conference and the Young Leaders Experience.
