Reading Football Club’s subsidiary, Reading Football Club Prop Co Ltd, has outlined proposals to create a mixed-use development on land next to the stadium.
The transformation of an undeveloped piece of land next to the Madejski Stadium will see the construction of a convention centre, leisure facilities including an ice rink and restaurants, and over 600 new homes.
More than 1000 new jobs will be created by the development with the convention centre expected to bring year round business as it will be capable of facilitating conferences, exhibitions and live entertainment.
The football club will be holding public consultations throughout October to give local residents a chance to have their say on the development which will be called Royal Elm Park.
