Knight Frank has announced the sale of a historic golf and country hotel near Bath, with the site earmarked for development.
Tracy Park Golf and Country Hotel was bought by Eagle Resorts, which was represented by Tom Marriott of HMH Golf & Leisure, specialists in the golf sector.
“There was strong competition from both UK and international buyers and we received multiple offers for the hotel and golf courses,” said Henry Jackson, partner in the Knight Frank Hotels team.
“The purchaser has extensive plans to improve Tracy Park which will further enhance the already excellent facilities.”
Tracy Park Golf and Country Hotel is located approximately five miles from Bath and includes a Grade II Jacobean and Georgian mansion which continues to be recognised as a building of historical importance, referenced in the iconic Domesday Book in 1086.
The property now offers a high quality hotel with 42 en suite letting rooms and suites, conference and wedding facilities and two championship 18-hole golf courses.
Knight Frank said the estate, which is close to 221 acres, has been subject to recent investment and additions but still offers significant development potential as a freehold property.
