Historic home has asking price slashed

The owner of a nine-bedroom country home in Scotland has been forced to slash its asking price from £1.2m to £950,000.

Balbithan House, located in Aberdeenshire, was featured in the Press and Journal in October 2014 through property consultant CKD Galbraith.

It originally had a price tag of £1.2m, but after being on the market for the past 18 months, is now available for £950,000.

The listed property boasts accommodation over three levels with scope for four or five reception rooms and up to nine bedrooms.

It was originally built around 1560 but extensive restoration work has been carried out since the 1960s with the aid of grants from the Historic Buildings Council.
