Ann Budge, Owner, CEO and Chairwoman of Hearts FC, announced the club had secured over half of the funding for the new main stand as part of the redevelopment of its Tynecastle Stadium which is estimated to cost between £11-12m.
The development is still subject to planning approval, but the club believes that the main stand will be ready and open by September 2017.
Fans were told that Hearts will announce how the rest of the project will be funded shortly before formal plans for the main stand are submitted.
Hearts FC have also spoken with the Foundation of Hearts who are aware of how the project will be funded.
“Subject to planning and health and safety approval being granted, the club anticipates that the day [the] first team run out in front of the new Main Stand for the first time, it will be completely paid for, with no bank debt at all.”
The redevelopment of Tynecastle is expected to extend the capacity of the ground to just under 21,000.
