Ex-England manager to cash in on overseas property market

Glenn Hoddle has put his Spanish five-bedroom holiday home up for sale for £1.98m.

The former Tottenham and England midfielder is looking to sell the mansion, which is located in the luxury resort of Sotogrande on the Costa del Sol.

The news comes as Knight Frank reported that property sales in the region jumped 89% between 2008 and 2014 as the country’s housing market looks to recover from the global financial crisis.

According to Zoopla, this rise suggests that confidence is returning with prices in nearby Marbella increasing by 3% in the year to April 2016.

The property contains panoramic views and comes with a swimming pool, landscaped garden, large kitchen and living and dining areas.

Chestertons and Winkworth are currently marketing the property, which has an asking price of £1,983,600.

More than 70 golf courses are also located along this part of the Spanish coastline, while Audrey Hepburn, the Obamas and Prince have all spent time in the area, according to Zoopla.
