Famous mansion block undergoes refurbishment

A mansion block which was once home to a world-famous rock star is currently undergoing a refurbishment.

According to Zoopla, the mansion block, Ivor Court, on Gloucester Place in Marylebone was once the home of Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts.

The building is currently undergoing a refurbishment to its communal areas, which is expected to be finished soon.

Mr Watts lived in Ivor Court with his wife Shirley in 1965, with fellow band mates Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman and Brian Jones making regular visits during the band’s heyday.

One of the apartments in Ivor Court is now up for sale after a refurbishment.

The property is on the market with Prime Metro Properties for £1.6m in an area where Zoopla have reported a 41.4% increase in average house prices in the last five years.

Ivor Court is situated close to Regent’s Park.

In April the former home of Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten was available to rent in Chelsea near to where some members of The Rolling Stones lived.
