The firm said it had seen its portfolio expand with new and ongoing projects worth between £3-200m.
Andrew Rae, joint managing director at Fletcher Rae, felt the increase was down to the firm proactively pursuing opportunities within the now buoyant construction market, as well as the scope of ongoing projects expanding.
“For example, the ink has only just dried on the paper for two residential schemes in Salford and Liverpool worth in the region of £140m.
“In addition, large projects that take time to go live are coming to fruition; for example, an energy contract in Gloucester, worth £200m, has just gone live after five years of planning.
“This significant development is one of many for the business in this highly specialised sector.”
Fletcher Rae has also expanded its team by doubling staff numbers, which has prompted a full restructure and revamp of its design studio.
The firm has also revamped its website, which Andrew feels is a key portal into the business and is necessary to enable continued interest in the firm and growth.
“We needed to refresh our brand to reflect what the business is doing now rather than what we were doing six years ago when this journey started.
“The new website showcases what we are capable of doing from both a design and technical perspective, reinforcing our position as a key market player.
“We’re not scared to be different, or put off by the scope of projects, and it’s that fearless mentality that has really driven us forward over the last few years, and something that I wanted reflected in the website.”
Looking to the future, Andrew believes the way it approaches technical detail gives the firm an edge over the competition.
“A lot of our competitors don’t want to build much, they just want to do the front-end design [ie pure concept designers].
“We’re an architectural business that delivers projects, operating in a traditional manner, with attention to every single detail on the project, from initial concept and design to [the] actual construction of the buildings.”
