10-acre London development site up for sale

A 10-acre site adjacent to the River Thames and in the heart of a major London development has been put up for sale.

The residential land and development team at JLL has been instructed to sell Nine Elms Square on behalf of Vinci St Modwen.

The site is located in the Nine Elms regeneration area that will contain the new American embassy and has planning permission for a residential-led mixed-use scheme containing 1,915 residential units.

The Nine Elms development has been supported by plans to extend the Northern Line and a new linear park linking Vauxhall and Battersea Power Station.

There are also proposals for a new pedestrian bridge over the Thames linking the development to Pimlico embankment.

Simon Hodson, head of the residential land team at JLL, said Nine Elms Square was a prime mixed-use development site that was at the heart of the Nine Elms development.

“Located in a prime position and boasting unrivalled river views and future transport links, we have always anticipated interest from around the world due to its prominent position next to the new American embassy.

“Throughout the year we have worked with ICG and our international colleagues across MENA, the US and China/Asia Pacific. It's going to be an interesting measure and test for London – after seven years of acquisition and advisory work.”
